DREAMINGLESS MAGAZINE - ISSUE 39
Denim jacket designer Elina Priha embraces the thought of wearing, loving, caring and mending - turning the old into new. The set for this editorial is made up of fabrics which were no longer wanted, like bed sheets, blankets and throws. They were re-vamped and textured with pink dyes and paint. Upcycling helps reduce CO2 emissions by using old materials instead of new. For every ton of discarded textiles used again, 20 tons of CO2 is prevented from entering the atmosphere.

Over my years of experience working in the industry as a photographer and a talent booker, I've seen first hand how there isn't enough resources and guidance available for models. Whether signed to an agency or not, the vast majority of models starting in the industry are not aware of expectations and best practices for the short and long terms of their careers.
Understanding the industry is key for models to be confident in their careers and be able to invest that knowledge into expanding their client roster, tapping into a different market at different times of their lives and adapting their profile and portfolio to the different needs of a constantly demanding and extremely competitive market. Finding what defines each model and what they bring to the table - what makes them unique - can be the winning combination for agencies and brands to recognise their value.
My coaching is a 360 approach that takes into account each individual situation and goals, and provide the tools and guidance for them to confidently take the reins of their own decisions and autonomy in the industry.
Some of the areas we would cover: portfolio review & development, industry expectations, understanding your target market and how to reach your dream clients, how to get signed, what you need to know for castings and self-tapes, understanding and negotiating contracts and agreements if you're a freelance model/influencer....
